As founder and Managing Director, Perry D. Adams provides quality leadership, vision, and support to effectively guide and implement BGA Consultant’s vision, mission, and overall direction. Perry is a graduate of Wichita State University majoring in Business Administration and holder of a master's degree in Adult Education from Oregon State University. He is also a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SCP).


With over 12 years of experience in Human Resources, Perry continues to be a change agent in the field. His vast knowledge, experience has provided an impactful result for large and small clients across various sectors to include non-profit, private and public sectors serving various industries: manufacturing, sales, production, and customer service. With proven experience in organizational development, policy development, and implementation, compliance, performance management, HR strategy, talent management, employee relations, along with training workshops and learning management systems Perry has provided effective outcomes for large and small clients in various stages of their business cycles.

Diversity



Diversity in the workplace means that an organization employs a diverse team of people that’s reflective of the society in which it exists and operates.


Unfortunately, determining what makes a team diverse isn’t so simple.


Diversity incorporates all of the elements that make individuals unique from one another, and while there are infinite differences in humans, most of us subconsciously define diversity by a few social categories, such as gender, race, age and so forth.



Equity



If you thought equity and equality were synonyms, you wouldn’t be alone—but you’d also be wrong. In fact, the pursuit of one can sometimes directly contradict the pursuit of the other. How? By definition, equality means “the state of being equal, especially in status, rights, and opportunities.”


Equity means “justice according to natural law or right” or “the quality of being fair and impartial.” So, what does this mean in the workplace? It means that treating everyone the same in the pursuit of equality might not actually be fair.



Inclusion



SHRM defines inclusion separately from diversity as “the achievement of a work environment in which all individuals are treated fairly and respectfully, have equal access to opportunities and resources, and can contribute fully to the organization’s success.”


Not only is inclusivity crucial for diversity efforts to succeed, but creating an inclusive culture will prove beneficial for employee engagement and productivity.
